* BUGs:
*******
Too many Windows 10 Updates are buggy/flawed, may generate errors, lock up your computer(s)/laptop(s), restart/reboot unexpectedly
in the middle of performing critical/essential/vital work, or/and even incur loss of data [!] (examples):

to open "Wub.zip" archive and extract "Wub.exe" + "Wub.ini" to an empty folder.
2. Open Explorer/similar/replacement -> right-click "Wub.exe" -> Run as Administrator -> (1) check "Disable Updates" box -> (2) check
"Protect Services Settings" box -> (3) click "Apply Now" -> exit "Wub.exe".
3. Reboot.

And now... The Long and Winding Road... [http://andrewgodsell.wordpress.com/2016/05/17/the-beatles-in-wonderland/]
OPTIONAL Steps + Explanation:
*****************************
All steps below are optional if you wish to do this step-by-step by hand, or/and if you'd like to learn about the complicated
process and the tremendous length Microsoft went to in order to forbid Windows 10 users from disabling Windows Updates. Wow!
WUB Brief Explanation:
**********************
Windows Update Blocker (WUB) disables + protects (by changing ownership rights, modyfing, renaming +/- overwriting them) these
Windows Updates (WU) interconnected/dependent/related services:
- Backup Scan [runs by default upon every (re)boot + periodically -> %systemroot%\system32\usoclient.exe]
- Schedule Scan [runs by default upon every (re)boot + periodically -> %systemroot%\system32\usoclient.exe]
- Schedule Scan Static Task [runs by default upon every (re)boot + periodically -> %systemroot%\system32\usoclient.exe]
- UpdateModelTask [runs by default upon every (re)boot + periodically -> %systemroot%\system32\usoclient.exe]
- USO_UxBroker [runs by default upon every (re)boot + periodically -> %systemroot%\system32\MusNotification.exe]
found in this scheduled Tasks folder:
%WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\UpdateOrchestrator
and also turns off, disables + protects (by changing ownership rights, modyfing, renaming +/- overwriting them) these
Windows Updates (WU) interconnected/dependent/related services -> see respective Registry + BATch files below:
- DoSvc [Delivery Optimization service]
- UsoSvc [Update Orchestrator service]
- WaaSMedicSvc [Windows Update Medic service]
- wuauserv [Windows Update (Automatic Updates) service]
WUB also stops temporarily this related service:
- bits [Background Intelligent Transfer service]
WUB adds these REG_DWORD (DWORD) 32-bit values to the registry for all 4 Windows Updates (WU) interconnected/dependent/related services
listed above:

Original (unmodified) Windows 10 Windows Updates (WU) built-in scheduled tasks are found in these Trusted Installer [TrustedInstaller = special
"VIP" type user with above-Admin privileges created by Microsoft] protected folders, which are inaccessible to any (other) user, even to the
computer owner/main/only user, even if Admin(istrator)/Sysadmin/SYSTEM level:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\UpdateOrchestrator :
Backup Scan
Maintenance Install
Reboot_AC Reboot_Battery
Schedule Scan
Schedule Scan Static Task
UpdateModelTask
USO_UxBroker
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\WaaSMedic :
PerformRemediation
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate :
Scheduled Start
sihpostreboot
To be allowed to access all these scheduled tasks one must take ownership + grant themselves Admin privileges to the respective folders + files from
a DOS console (command prompt) -> right-click CMD shortcut/CMD.EXE -> Run as Administrator -> run these commands -> press Enter after each line:
TAKEOWN.EXE /f "%WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Tasks" /r /d y
ICACLS.EXE "%WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Tasks" /grant:r %UserName%:F /t /c /q
iCACLS.exe:
http://ss64.com/nt/icacls.html
TAKEOWN.exe:

FYI:
NTFS Permissions Tools (NPT) 32-bit + 64-bit display/modify/add/delete NTFS ACLs file system security options/owner:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ntfs_permissions_tools.html
Download:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Servers/Server-Tools/NTFS-Permissions-Tools.shtml#download
Then rename all the Tasks subfolders listed above to anything else (example) from a DOS console (command prompt) -> right-click CMD shortcut/CMD.EXE
-> Run as Administrator -> run these commands -> press Enter after each line:
REN %WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\UpdateOrchestrator UpdateOrchestrator_OLD
REN %WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\WaaSMedic WaaSMedic_OLD
REN %WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Tasks\Microsoft\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate WindowsUpdate_OLD
OR run Task Scheduler MMC snap-in:
MMC.EXE /S taskschd.msc
and disable all the tasks listed above -> right-click on each one of them 1 at a time -> click Disable each time.
FYI:
Trusted Installer (%WinDir%\servicing\TrustedInstaller.exe = %WinDir% is usually C:\WINDOWS) is Windows
Vista/2008/7/8/8.1/2012/10/2016/2019/newer Microsoft built-in user account with privileged, above-admin, system-wide rights
which performs automatic/unattended/forced/behind-your-back/without-your-consent operations, for example: downloads, updates,
installs/uninstalls, closes/executes/(re)starts/(re)schedules dynamic link libraries (DLLs)/executables/services/tasks/scripts,
modifies the Registry, creates/copies/renames/modifies/moves/deletes files/folders, modifies/takes over files/folders
ownership/permissions/attributes, reboots Windows.

How to stop TrustedInstaller.exe:
1. Hold down Winkey [http://www.mdgx.com/lastweek.htm#WINKEY] + press R -> Run... box -> type
services
-> press Enter -> double-click Windows Updates (WU) service -> click Stop button -> wait for service to stop -> click OK button ->
immediately double-click Windows Updates (WU) again -> General tab -> Startup type: -> select Manual -> Recovery tab ->
First Failure: , Second Failure: + Subsequent Failures: -> select Take No Action for all 3 types of Failure -> click OK button.
2. Hold down Ctrl + Shift + press Esc (Escape key) -> Task Manager (TaskMgr.exe) -> Processes tab -> right-click TrustedInstaller.exe ->
click End task -> click End process button -> close Task Manager.
All attempts to stop and/or disable these services/executables/scheduled tasks manually by using:
Services MMC snap-in (%WinDir%\SYSTEM32\Services.msc)
Task Scheduler MMC snap-in (%WinDir%\SYSTEM32\TaskSchd.msc)
RegEdit (%WinDir%\REGEDIT.EXE)
built-in DOS command console tools (examples): REG.EXE, NET.EXE, SC.EXE, TASKKILL.EXE, etc,
are usually unsuccessful on their own and/or by themselves, because Windows restarts/reschedules/restores them afterwards
almost immediately, after a certain amount of time preset in the built-in scheduled tasks and/or after the 1st reboot.
That's why multiple consecutive steps are required to be performed in a certain order for this process to succeed.

On The Edge of A Hostile Takeover = Uninstall Edge While You Still Can

* Uninstall + Remove Edge (any edition prior to September 2020 Windows 10 Update) from Windows 7/8/8.1/10: both OLD Legacy Edge (obsolete, proprietary,
based on obsolete IE core) installed by OLDer Windows 10 builds + NEW Chromium Edge (current, proprietary, limited options, disabled/locked/unavailable
basic/important features, loaded with forced/hard-to-disable spyware/adware, based on Google Chromium Canary developer channel):
