v4.8 = April
2008Notes:
Changes from v4.6.2 to v4.8 are mainly cosmetic, but the post-install routines have been tweaked a bit better. What is this project? This will transform your old Windows 98 SE (Second Edition)
installation CD into an Unattended Boot CD (UBCD) with more options and utilities than you would think possible. If you ever have to re-install your operating system, this will do it all for you. Set all options before setup starts
and/or create an INF file that will record your options so you don't even have to set them ever again. Test your hardware without the need for other discs, and partition your hard drives exactly the way you want them. Support added
for drop-folder installation packages - i.e. drop your install packages into the appropriate directory and have them installed during setup. This version has been designed to use most of the files in the Auto-Patcher for Windows 98
SE - all are installed during setup.Features of this project:- performs a completely unattended installation of Windows 98 SE.
- a comprehensive suite of hard disk partition functions
available.
-- create, delete, even resize your disk partitions without 3rd party apps. - complete customisation of the most common installation options:
- system drive letter ..... windows directory
name ..... keyboard type.
- computer name ..... workgroup ..... username ..... organisation.
- screen resolution ..... screen color bit depth ..... product key.
- regional setting ..... time zone.
- automatic selection of
your own msbatch.inf file if you burn it onto your version of this project. Even if you have provided your own msbatch file, you can still choose a different combination of settings and carry over the product key without having to
enter the blasted thing ever again!
- support for easily adding your own installation packages.
- UBCD includes video and chipset driver packs that greatly increase the amount of drivers Windows has available when installing your
hardware during setup. So UBCD supports most modern ATI and nVidia cards, and some SiS, Intel and VIA chipsets not natively supported in Windows 98 SE.
